JOHNSTOWN — SROKA – Edward, 90, Johnstown, died Jan. 7, 2014, in Cincinnati. Born April 6, 1923, in Johnstown, son of John and Eva (Mindala) Sroka. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene (Wozniak); brothers, John, Steve and Joseph; and sisters, Anna Pazan, Mary Kulick, Eva Sroka and Katherine Mesaros. Survived by sons, Gary, married to the former Cynthia Dowell, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Thomas, Johnstown; and grandchildren, Jamie Sroka, Edward Sroka, Heather Sroka, Gerri Sroka, Stephanie Berry and David Berry. Also survived by sister-in-law, Eleanor, and husband, Carl Simsic; sisters-in-law, Jean, Trudy and Rose Wozniak; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ed was a member of Christ the Saviour Cathedral, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Bethlehem Steel. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street, where the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Robert Buczak will hold Panachida service at 7 p.m. There will be a brief service 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by funeral service at 10 a.m. at Christ the Saviour Cathedral.
