TROY, MICH. — VENDRZYK – Leona “Elsie,” 101, Troy, Mich., went to her eternal rest March 19, 2013. Born June 18, 1911, in Chicago, Ill., and grew of up in Lilly, daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Kozak) Vendrzyk. Preceded in death by brothers, Rudolph J., Edward V., Anthony S. and Vincent L. Vendrzyk; and sisters, Anna Vendrzyk, Valeria Manturuk, Helen Beres and Magdalene Zajdel. Survived by brother, Chester, Florida; sisters, Clara Edwards, Florida; Wanda Thomas, Michigan; and Barbara Wallace, New Jersey; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and -nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. Relatives and friends received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home, Lilly. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, the Rev. Monsignor John R. Sasway, celebrant. Committal, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lilly.
