FLINTON — RIZZO – Dr. Michael J., 48, Flinton, passed away Aug. 25, 2013, at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, following a stroke. Born March 9, 1965, in Spangler, son of Dr. Victor F. and Florence T. (Mietus) Rizzo. Preceded in death by his father and brother, Paul F. Rizzo. Survived by his mother; brothers and sisters, Dr. Victor J. Rizzo, Altoona; Julie A. (Mark) Eckenrode, Ebensburg; Gary L. Rizzo, Boca Raton, Fla.; Maria (Rob) Pierce, Muncy, Pa.; Lisa T. Rizzo, Delray Beach, Fla.; Dr. John M. Rizzo, Ebensburg; Father David R. Rizzo, Altoona; Cathy A. Rizzo, Boca Raton, Fla.; Dr. Theresa M. (Dr. R.J.) Harris, Barboursville, W.Va.; Anthony J. Rizzo, Boca Raton, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was a graduate of Penn State University and Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he played rugby at Penn State and attended Palmer College on a rugby scholarship. He had chiropractic offices in Patton, Johnstown and Altoona. Member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, and St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, Coalport. Dr. Rizzo had a great love for chiropractic care. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 Fifth Ave., Patton, Pa. 16668, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, by Benedictine Fathers. Committal, St. Lawrence Cemetery. (www.stevensfamilyfuneralhomes.com)
