Doris Carol Tisinger

JOHNSTOWN — TISINGER – Doris Carol, 84, Johnstown, went to be with Our Lord Aug. 23, 2013. Born Sept. 15, 1928, daughter of Fess Sr. and Carrie Toney. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Matthew P. Tisinger; sons, Matthew Jr. and Robert Wayne; brothers, Fess Jr. and Willie D.; sister, Ida Britt; brother, Al Raephus; sister, Lois McGhee; and brothers-in-law, James Britt, Earl Jackson Sr. and Leroy Lawrence. Survived by her children, Anthony Leon Tisinger; Rev. Theodore, and wife, Linda Faye (Jordon) Tisinger; Evangelist Loretta Hughes; Mark Edward, and wife, Marsha (Morris) Tisinger; Linda K. Smith; and Alexander, and wife, Georgene (Cashaw) Tisinger; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mary Jackson, Joann Lawrence, Creola Rawles (Fred), Ruby Toney, Deacon Emmanuel Toney (Linda) and Edward Toney; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Doris served as the First Lady of Beulah Baptist Church in Indiana, Pa., for 28 years. She also served as “Mother of the Church” at Shiloh Baptist Church and was a former employee of the Lutheran and Church of the Brethren Nursing Homes and Holiday Inn in Richland. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shiloh Baptist Church, 639 Menoher Blvd., where her homegoing service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Stephen Daniel, officiating, and the Rev. Hubert Hutcherson, eulogist. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. Moskal-Reid Funeral Home, West End, is in charge of arrangements.
