MUNDYS CORNER — KOZOROSKY– John, 82,  Mundys Corner, passed away Aug. 2, 2013, at Windber Hospice. Born Dec. 11, 1930, in Coal Run, Pa., son of the late Charles Sr. and Sophia (Mutchka) Kozorosky. Preceded in death by brothers, Peter, Nicholas and Charles Jr. Survived by wife of 59 years, the former Helen Hurtack; children, Anna (Gary) Cesnik; Tina (Greg) Adams; Patricia (Bob Teeter) Hunt; Rosemary (Paul Hoffman) Kozorosky; John A. (Cindy) Kozorosky; Nicholas (Laurie) Kozorosky; and Sophia (Mark) Laver; grandchildren, Dana, Nicholas, Jeremiah, Jessica, Juliana, Max, Paulina, Sophia, Charlie, Jake, Luke, Erica, Ian, Katarina, Tiffany and Kipp; and great-grandchildren, Myah, Wyatt, Kiylee, Emmalee, Isaac and Ethan. Also survived by sisters, Ann Lavezoli, Katherine (John) Descavich and Mary (Donald) Christian; and brother, Joseph (Priscilla) Kozorosky, as well as several nieces and nephews. Member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. John was an avid hunter and history buff. He had a passion for ethnic cooking, farming and gardening and also enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking, running his sawmill, playing the violin and guitar and growing fruit and nut trees. He will be sadly missed by his loving family. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Vianney Church, the Very Rev. Andrew C. Stanko, VF, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo. Military rites by Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks and Vintondale area veterans’ organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to Windber Hospice.
