Tony S. Offman

PORTAGE — OFFMAN – Tony S., 86, Portage, passed away Jan. 31, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center.  Born Jan. 6, 1928, in  Portage, the son of Adam and Mary (Sapeta) Offman. Deceased family members include parents; sisters, Viola and Blanche Offman; and brothers, Stanley J. Offman and Joseph W. Offman. Survived by brothers, William Offman, and wife , Patricia Henri, and Raymond Offman, and wife, Jeannie, both of Portage. Also survived by goddaughter, Trish Zonts; and numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Life member of Post 430 American Legion.  Tony was a forest firefighter for the state for 23 years, a construction worker and  retired from the Oneida coal mines. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and  gardening. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church, Mountain Avenue, Portage, Father Joseph Janiszeski, TOR, celebrant.  Entombment, Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Portage. Military funeral rites by the Portage Ritual Team.
