THORNTON, COLO. —
ZIEMBA – Blaine Walter Jr., 66, Thornton, Colo., formerly of Washington, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, following a brief illness. The son of the late Blaine Ziemba Sr. and Josephine Pozniak Ziemba of Johnstown, Mr. Ziemba was born Sept. 5, 1947, in Johnstown. Mr. Ziemba was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. After graduating from Sul Ross University in Texas, he worked for Kurtz Bros. in Clearfield for 35 years. He moved to Colorado, along with his wife, in June 2013 to be closer to their grandsons. Blaine enjoyed golf, traveling, hiking the Colorado mountains, sports and playing ball with his grandsons. In April 1972, he married Annette Kulic Ziemba, who survives. Also surviving are his son, Brian Ziemba (Sam Pittman), Pittsburgh; daughter, Jennifer (Billy) Keith, Colorado; grandchildren, Braden and Max Keith; brother, Leonard (Karen) Ziemba, Johnstown; sisters, Harriet Ziemba, Johnstown, and Stephanie (David) Wright, Bethel Park; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Friends will be received Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director; Susan Falvo Warco, director; and S. Timothy Warco II, director. On Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, W. Chestnut Street, Washington. Those wishing to attend the Mass are asked to go directly to the church. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
