Theodora May Pappas

WESTMONT — PAPPAS – Theodora “Teddie” May, LCSW, 61, Westmont, died unexpectedly Feb. 7, 2014,  at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 15, 1952, in Johnstown, daughter of Theodore James and Assunta (Caputo) Pappas. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anna Catherine Sekerski; and brother-in-law, John Krupa. Survived by sister, Mary, married to Dr. Joel Borkow; sister, Rita Krupa; brother, Theodore James Pappas; nephews, David (Melissa), Jason (Rebecca), Andrew (Laura) Stremmel, John (Julie), Jay Krupa and Philip Borkow; and nieces, Carmen (Christopher) Letzo, Arianna Pappas and Michelle (Christopher) Falgiano. She was a graduate of Ferndale Area High School, received her bachelor’s of science degree in social work at UPJ and master’s degree in clinical social work from Ohio State University. Teddie was employed by Conemaugh Counseling Associates and Dr. Mary Berge and Associates, providing counseling to countless children, adolescents, adults and specializing in marriage and family therapy.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Beau. Teddie devoted her life to helping others.  She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. There will be no viewing. Friends and family will be received at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at St. Clement Catholic Church with funeral Mass by Father William E. Rosenbaum following at 11 a.m.  There will be a private interment. Funeral arrangements by Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the individual’s charity of choice in memory of Theodora Pappas.  Condolences may be sent through “That we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.” - Helen Keller
