LORETTO — KRUG – Helen G., 101, a resident of John Paul Manor, Cresson, formerly of Loretto R.D., died Jan. 16, 2013, on her 101st birthday. Born in Ashville R.D., daughter of the late Herman Sr. and Matilda (Douglass) Krug. Preceded in death by brothers, Leo, Robert, Douglas and Herman Jr.; and sisters, Mary Bender, Marian, Jane, Sister M. Hermine IHM and Dorothy Conlon. Survived by brothers and sisters, Sister M. Romaine IHM and Sister M. Franceline IHM, both of Scranton; Francis (Kathleen Stetter), Ashville R.D.; Theresa Cole (Teeny), Indiana; and Edgar (Shirley Swires), Pittsburgh; brother-in-law, Jerry Conlon, Roaring Springs; and sister-in-law, Robbie (King) Krug, Denver, Colo. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Helen retired in 1974 from Philco Television Corp., Philadelphia, after 30 years of service. Member of Chest Springs Senior Citizens, Quilting Club, Birthday Club, Catholic Daughters of America, Altar Rosary Society, choir and St. Monica’s Catholic Church, Chest Springs, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Joseph Fleming, celebrant. Committal, church cemetery. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where vigil service will be held Friday afternoon.
