CRESSON — BOOTERBAUGH – Ted C., 87, Cresson, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born May 31, 1926, in Amsbry, Pa., son of the late Emanuel and Pearl (Pugh) Booterbaugh. Also preceded in death by sister, Margaret Talarico. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Rhoda (Bachtell) Booterbaugh; daughters, Ann Falk, and husband, Dennis, Richmond, Va.; Amy Hudson, and husband, Jefferson, Richmond, Va.; and Mary Kay Johnson, and husband, Robert, Midlothian, Va.; grandchildren, Molly Ybarra, Zach Falk, Marguerite Hudson, Sara Hudson, Grace Johnson and Max Johnson; brother, Donald Booterbaugh, Hollidaysburg; and sister, Delores Nichol, New Jersey. Ted graduated from Cresson High School and LaSalle School of Accounting. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received a Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon and the Army Occupation Medal. He retired from H.J. Heinz of Pittsburgh in 1989. Member of the American Legion and former member of Cresson Lion’s Club, Cresson Industrial Development, Cresson Sewer Authority and Summit Country Club. Ted was the first recipient in the state for a telescope implant in the eye. He loved his family, friends and golf. There will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to St. Francis Xavier Church, Renovation Fund, 211 Powell Ave., Cresson, Pa. 16630.
