DAVIDSVILLE — GEISEL – Mary Jane, 88, Davidsville, formerly of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord Oct. 5, 2013, at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. Born March 24, 1925, in Johnstown, daughter of Joseph M. and Edna (Mulvehill) Havener. Preceded in death by parents; husband, William Geisel, who passed away June 1999; and brother, James Havener. Survived by loving daughters, Lee Ann, married to Harry Shaw, Johnstown; Marikay (Casey) Corliss, married to Joe Tuttle, New Martinsville, W.Va.; Jeri, married to Ernie Davison, Centralia, Wash.; and Jan, married to Dr. Edward Emch, New Martinsville, W.Va.; grandchildren, Celeste, married to David Sprankle; Brody Shaw, married to Nicole; Cody Corliss; Chad Corliss, married to Megan; Molly, married to Tyler Colvin; Katy, married to Ben Hughes; Quint Davison, married to Dacia; Alexis Emch; Garrett Emch; and Krista Emch; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Lou Miske, Johnstown. Mary Jane was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church since 1952. She married William Geisel in January 1942. She attended Richland Township High School. She graduated from LPN school in 1966. She obtained her GED in 1967. She worked for Memorial Hospital for 18 years as an LPN. She was active in several senior citizen organizations and Oakland Garden Club. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, quilting and sewing. She also loved to travel. She had been a resident since 2004 at Laurel View Village. She was the owner of an alteration/sewing business. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakland United Methodist Church, the Rev. Randy Bain, officiating. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Oakland United Methodist Church Building Fund or Laurel View Village, Davidsville.
