Thomas G. Haupt

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP — HAUPT – Thomas G., 83, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord June 16, 2014, at Richland Woods Assisted Living Center. Born Feb. 2, 1931, in Johnstown, son of William and Mary (Picklo) Haupt. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Dorothy Jacklevich; sisters, Bertha Mae and Ester; brothers, Joseph and Theodore; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Ferguson. Survived by his loving wife of nine years, Gladys E. (Henry) Haupt, Richland Township; children, Clarence W. Cramer, Richland Township; Nancy E., wife of Dan Bajorek, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and David P. Cramer, Biloxi, Miss.; grandchildren, Clarence, Paul and Krissy Cramer; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings, Howard Haupt, Johnstown; and Mary Ellen, wife of John Matcho, Richland Township; and sisters-in-law, Audrey C. Rubis, Richland Township; Mary C., wife of Bob Hammer, Levittown, Pa.; and Lois J. Jordan, Bellingham, Wash.; also several nieces and nephews. Tom was a 1954 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Tom retired from Bethlehem Steel. Member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Conemaugh Valley Marine Corps League Detachment 287 and American Legion Post 849, Richland. Tom enjoyed camping, going to hymn sings and church. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted, loving husband, stepfather and brother, who always had a smile on his face. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. by Conemaugh Valley Marine Corps League Detachment 287. An additional viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Pastor Custeads, officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Conemaugh Valley Marine Corps League Detachment 287 at the church. Private entombment at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to American Cancer Society, 350 Budfield St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904, or to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
