JOHNSTOWN — LICASTRO – Josephine Sara Panarella, age 76, peacefully departed this life on Feb. 18, 2011.  She was born Dec. 10, 1934, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Panarella.  She is survived by her beloved brothers and sister and their spouses, Samuel Panarella (Jean Panarella), Anna Vita Christian (Robert Christian) and Frank Panarella.  She also is survived by her children and their spouses, Kathleen Panarella (Kenny Mason), Pamela Panarella (B. Alexander Ruff), Christopher Licastro (Carolyn Licastro) and Roxane Panarella (Curtis Diaz); her dearly loved grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, and Michael; and many special cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church for several decades. Everyone who knew Josephine loved her and benefited from her generosity and kindness.  She worked hard her entire life but was always quick with laughter and always had time for conversation. Josephine loved nothing better than preparing meals for her family and friends. She also adored her dogs and enjoyed caring for her home.  She will be deeply and forever missed by all those who were blessed with knowing her.  Friends and family will be received beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Church, 609 Park Ave., Johnstown. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon at the church to which all are invited. Care and arrangements have been graciously provided by Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, 219 Ohio St., Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Josephine to the Palliative Care Unit of the Conemaugh Health Foundation, 1086 Franklin St., Johnstown, Pa.
