Enzo Scarton

PORTAGE — SCARTON – Enzo, 75, Portage, passed away May 27, 2010, at the home of his son, Alan. Born June 11, 1934, in Portage, son of the late Giachino “John” and Agatha (Alban)  Scarton. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Lillian (Farren) Scarton; and brother, John Scarton. Survived by son, Alan Scarton, married to the former Renee Sanzare, Ebensburg; daughter, Lynn, wife of James Fohringer, Lewistown; and three grandchildren. Brother of Dino Scarton, married to the former Deborah Berkebile, Portage. Also survived by sister-in-law, Dolores Scarton. He received a bachelor’s degree in math and a bachelor’s degree in physics from St. Francis College. A retired design engineer from Xerox Corporation, Rochester, N.Y. In his younger days, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a former member of Jamestown Rod & Gun Club. More recently, he was an avid poker player and also enjoyed keeping up with modern trends in technology and architecture. He volunteered his time and talents to help build the Prayer and Healing Center in Johnstown for Father Anthony Morfessis. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mark A. Serenko Funeral Home, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, Father Walter Moll, celebrant. Committal, St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Wilmore.
