Edith M. Felix

EBENSBURG — FELIX – Edith M., 88, Ebensburg, died Jan. 12, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born Aug. 9, 1925, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Warren S. and Anna A. (Burkhardt) Ribblett. She rejoins her husband of 50 years, Paul Felix Sr. Also preceded in death by grandsons, Thomas A. and Daniel P. Felix; son-in-law, Richard L. Ramsey; brothers, Warren E. and Ernest T. Ribblett; sister, Hazel Mae (Grow); and infant brothers, David and Walter. Paul, Edith and family relocated from Johnstown to Ayron Farm in Ebensburg in 1956, where they raised and are survived by the following children, Paul Jr. (Debra Cessna), Bruce (Maxine Morgan), Thomas (Patricia Koharie), Edith Mae (Stephen Sowolla), Loretta Ramsey and Beverly (Robert Patterson). They were blessed with 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Edith was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness of St. Benedict. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her large network of friends, which included the brothers and sisters of her faith. She was a lifelong homemaker, enjoyed finding and trying new recipes for cooking and baking and weekly made homemade bread. She liked going to any type of fair, festival or event, where she rode her little red scooter. She loved her two cats, all wildlife and living on the farm. She is in fact known to her grandchildren as “Grandma Farm.” She also loved jewelry, was an amateur poet and a true Elvis fan. “Love me tender, Love me sweet. Never let me go. You have made my life complete, And I love you so. Love me tender, Love me long. Take me to your heart. For it’s there that I belong, And we’ll never part.” At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice in Edith’s memory. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff at Cambria Care Center in Ebensburg for their kindness and professionalism. Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., exclusive provider of “Veterans and Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be sent to HindmanFuneralHomes.com.
