JOHNSTOWN — LESOSKY – Magdalin “Madeline” (Barron), 89, Johnstown, passed away Jan. 23, 2014. Born Feb. 10, 1924, daughter of Michael and Anna (Mitrus) Barron (Baran). Preceded in death by parents; husband, John Steve Lesosky; brothers, Michael, and his wife, Helen; and John, Nicholas Barron, who was killed in action during World War II; and sisters, Mary Porinchak, and her husband, Joe; and Anna Terchanik, and her husband, Pete. Maggie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a 1942 graduate of Johnstown High School and worked for the War Department during World War II. She retired from Penelec as a bookkeeper and also worked as a bookkeeper at Kay Artley Co. Later in life, she worked as a volunteer at the Cambria County Public Library. Maggie was an avid reader, a music lover and world traveler. As a young girl, she studied dance with Gene Kelly. Survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and her devoted cousin, Christine Robel, who cared for her during the past years. Family and friends will be received from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. Sunday at Moskal-Reid Funeral Home, West End, the Rev. Charles P. Martin, officiating.
