Michael P. Farbo

LANCASTER — FARBO – Michael P., 84,  Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in St. Michael, he was the son of the late Michael S. and Catherine (Malosky) Farbo. Michael was the loving husband of Betty A. (Finnegan) Farbo, with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage. Michael graduated from Windber High School in 1947. U.S. Army veteran. Michael retired as a machine operator after 35 years of service with Hamilton Watch Co.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He was a master craftsman and enjoyed doing many activities. Surviving in addition to his wife, Betty, are two sons, Michael G. Farbo, husband of Darlene, Pequea, Pa., and James P. Farbo, husband of Patty, Ephrata, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Aaron, Zebulah, James, Laura, Mariah and Mikah; and two brothers, Joseph and Arthur Farbo, and a sister, June Makin, all of Windber. Michael was preceded in death by six siblings, Frances Antolosky, Thomas Farbo, Ralph Farbo, Raymond Farbo, Charles Farbo and David Farbo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, Pa. 17603.  Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.  Interment, St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, Pa.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michael’s memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church for the Memorial and Gift Program for the Carl Barckhoff Organ.
