JOHNSTOWN — SHAW – Virginia May, 93, Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown, passed this life to eternal life on her 73rd wedding anniversary  surrounded by her family to be with the Lord on March 23, 2013. Preceded in death by infant daughter, baby Erma Jean, in 1941; husband, Kenneth Andrew, in 1997, after 57 years of marriage; son-in-law, Jack Miller, in 2008; brothers, Charles, Edgar, George, Paul and Roy; and sisters, Erma Calafiore, Audrey Zilch and Evelyn Straub. Virginia was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  Survived by these children: Kenneth, Potter County; Reta Miller, South Fork; Audrey, wife of Thomas “Bucky” Morris, Johnstown; Bonnie Shaw, Florida; and Vicki Shaw, Johnstown. She loved all children, and they were drawn to her. Virginia enjoyed spending time in Potter County with her son, Kenny, and visiting family in Florida. She was very much loved by her family and friends and will be sadly missed. Her favorite saying was “It’s a good day for ice cream.”  She was lovingly cared for by the staff at Crossroads and Horizon Hospice. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford St. Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family, the Rev. John Hollis.
