JEROME — LUCAS – Mrs. Florence J. (Chapman), 100, Jerome, formerly of Beaverdale, entered eternity Nov. 3, 2012, at the Country Manor Living Personal Care Home. Born in Heilwood on Aug. 7, 1912, daughter of William and Annie Chapman. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse R. Lucas; her sons, Jesse Leroy and Terry Gene; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann; and all her brothers and sisters to include, Harry Cecil, Albert “Dutch,” James, William “Bob,” Roy St. Clair, Eva Chapman, Annie Thompson, Emma Burkett and  Grace Mae Holben. Survived by her twin sons, Cecil (Cheri), Davidsville, and Clair (Kim), Quakertown. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law, Donna, Levittown. She leaves six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Florence had been a longtime resident of Beaverdale, having moved with her family to town around 1928 when she was 16 years old. She was a devout and loving mother and she was an avid reader of the Bible and of quality fiction and non-fiction books. She was a lady of strong conviction and determination, a quite engaging and lively conversationalist. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.  Friends received from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Wednesday at Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale, the Rev. Rodney E. Henderson, officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
