David Harry Yoder

PENN RUN — YODER – David Harry, 69, Penn Run, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 9, 2013. The son of Frank F. and Marjorie V. (Chappell) Yoder, he was born Jan. 26, 1944, in Johnstown. David had been employed numerous years for Columbia Gas. He was a proud Marine, having served during the Vietnam War. In his spare time, David enjoyed golfing, playing poker, smoking cigars and mowing grass. He also was interested in antique vehicles and coins. David will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved and sacrificed for his family. He was a role model who was devoted to his family and cherished the time he spent with them. Surviving are his wife, Margaret “Peggy” (Buffy) Yoder, whom he wed Aug. 3, 1965; four sons, Eric V., and wife, Betty, Indiana; Erron S., and wife, Alisha, Summerville, Ga.; David J., and wife, Christina, Commodore; and Chris, Penn Run; eight grandchildren, Evan, Abigail, Landon, Quinton, Faith, Dereck, Austin and Cameron; his two sisters, Barbara Lorditch, Johnstown, and Kathaleen Williams, and her husband, Richard, Arizona; a brother, Ralph, Johnstown; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding David in death were his parents and a brother, Frank. The funeral arrangements will be private and entrusted to John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. (
