CYPRESS, TEXAS — LANGER – Thomas James, 58, passed away April 12, 2013, at his home in Cypress, Texas, surrounded by his immediate family. Born Aug. 13, 1954, son of Frank A. and Thelma M. (Patterson) Langer. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Larry. Tom was a 1972 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School, Johnstown, and also attended University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ). Tom was manager of Broad Street A&P and later moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked for Pilot Chemical Co. for 32 years as the production supervisor. Survived by sisters, Bonnie Mitchell (Harold), Bethlehem, Pa.; and Linda Blue (Dean), Johnstown; and brother, Jerry Langer (Suzanne), Johnstown. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Larry Langer, Bryan Langer, Rebecca Shiner, David Mitchell, Laura Eshleman, Melissa Gaydos and Eric Blue, and their spouses and children. Also survived by Jenna Johnston, and her daughter, Scarlett, Houston. Tom fought a courageous battle with cancer and will be greatly missed by family and many friends and co-workers. A memorial service will held at the convenience of the family. In honor of Tom’s memory, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 350 Budfield St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904.
