MARTINSBURG — JAMISON – Leo Francis, 92, a longtime resident of Johnstown, passed away Friday, April  19, 2013, at Homewood at Martinsburg following complications related to pneumonia. Born in Henry’s Mills, son of the late John Cleveland and Mabel (Combs) Jamison. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ickes, whom he married Aug. 13, 1949; three sons, Richard Lee, Burke, Va.; Robert Leo, Pittsburgh; and Ronald Lynn, Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and sister, Norma Jean Dent, Herman, N.Y. Mr. Jamison served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946, and as a first lieutenant, led a rifle company into combat in Belgium and Germany at war’s end. He retired from Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown, where he was a member of the management club. Leo was a 1948 graduate of Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio, where he belonged to the Sphinx fraternity, and a 1952 graduate of Ohio State’s College of Law, Columbus, Ohio. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Johnstown. Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon Monday, April 22, 2013, at the chapel at Homewood, the Rev. Jerry McCuller Jr. and the Rev. William Thwing officiating. Private entombment will follow at Richland Cemetery, Johnstown. Arrangements by John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
