Laverne M. Trent

GEISTOWN — TRENT – Laverne M., 98, Geistown, died May 1, 2014, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born April 27, 1916, in Berlin, daughter of the late Reon M. and Arabelle B. (Miller) Glessner. Also preceded in death by husband, Glenn A. Trent; sister, Ruth Cessna; niece, Brenda Pearson; nephew, Rodney Trent; brother-in-law, Eugene Trent; and sister-in-law, Betty Trent. Survived by daughter, Joyce Spangler, Richland; granddaughter, Brittany Spangler, Aspen, Colo.; brother- in-law, the Rev. Robert Cessna, Enid, Okla.; and nieces, Cheryl Burtoft, Marsha Juliano and Shelby Bailey; nephew, Carlton Cessna; and beloved granddog, Tobi. Graduated from Berlin High School and York Business College. Former co-owner of Trent Insurance Agency, which her husband, Glenn, started in 1955. Member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and Anna L. Windolph Chapter 495, Order of Eastern Star. Laverne was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, and from  noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Interment, Richland Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of the Scalp Level Church of the Brethren Home for their wonderful care of Laverne for the last six years and where donations in memory of Laverne would be appreciated.
