Maurice Leo Moore

PENN RUN — MOORE – Maurice Leo, 93, Penn Run, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born Nov. 24, 1919, in McNealtown, Pa., son of Matthew L. and Clara (Hill) Moore. Maurice had been employed by Riverside Market as a bakery supervisor. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church. His interests included fishing, golfing and camping. Maurice also enjoyed square dancing and was a member of Blairsville Swinging Stingers. He was a military veteran who served in the Army during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Lois A (Pomroy) Moore; children, Matthew J. Moore, and wife, Toye E., Dover, Pa.; Martha J. Jarvis, and husband, Rodney, Hollsopple; Michael L. Moore, and fiancee, Sharon Gibble, Lancaster; and Maurice L. Moore II, and significant other, Polly Mockenhoff, St. Paul, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding Maurice in death were his parents; brothers, William and Clarence; and sisters, Ida Mary Weist, Pearl Kinzey and Geraldine Moore. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Additional viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, where funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Greg Golden, officiating. Military rites will be provided by VFW Post 1989. Interment, Berkey Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Windber.
