JOHNSTOWN — SULJAK – Joseph J., 86, Johnstown, died July 3, 2013, at Amber Springs at LaurelWood Care Center. Born June 6, 1927, in Johnstown, son of John and Frances (Thomas) Suljak. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Katherine Kurtz and Mary Kasay; and daughter-in-law, Janet (Mihalich) Suljak. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Edna Mae (Civis) Suljak; children, Clifford, Mesa, Ariz.; and Karen, wife of Clyde Eckenrod; Gayle, wife of Edward Wilfong; and Kimberly, wife of Joseph Ambrovcik, all of Johnstown; grandchildren, Derek and Jeremy Eckenrod; Bryan (Jaime), Joseph (Luisina) and Adam (Cortney) Wilfong; and Kelly Ambrovcik; great-grandchildren, Lotus Eckenrod; and Madelyn, Gabrielle, Simon, Aiden, Cason and Felix Wilfong; and brother, William Sulak. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Joe retired from the Bar, Rod & Wire Division of Bethlehem Steel after 35 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Joe was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, having served on the property committee and as an usher. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, casino trips, gardening, fishing and spending time with his family. He is well known for being a “Jack of all trades” and shared his knowledge and skills with his family. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., 710 Broad St. Family and friends will meet for funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, the Rev. Michael VanDyke, officiating. Committal, Grandview Cemetery with military honors.
