RICHLAND — RENZ – Leo H., 92, Richland, died Jan. 16, 2013, at home. Born Feb. 17, 1920, Coatesville, Pa., son of the late George B. and Norma G. (Rea) Renz. Also preceded in death by brothers, Everett R. and Avery N. Renz; sister, Arlene Sheelor; and daughter-in-law, Karen. Survived by wife of 41 years, Shirley J. (Miller-Shively) Renz; children, Sharon (Dennis) Billet, York, Pa.; Craig S., York, Pa.; Deborah L. (Leonard) Mayer, Johnstown; and Diane L. (Hughart), Reston, Va.; grandchildren, Cheryl Renz, Michelle Freedline and Christina Huyett, all from York, Pa.; Natalie Moldofsky and Justin Mayer, Johnstown; and Brewston and Brandon Hughart, Reston, Va.; great-grandchildren, Alexander Benshoff, Johnstown; Jared and Haydon Freedline, York, Pa.; Corey Hughart, Reston, Va.; and Kylee Hughart, Reston, Va.; and many nieces and nephews. A 1938 graduate of Coatesville High School. Retired as a buyer with 31 years at Penn Traffic Co., Johnstown. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater, ETO Battle of the Bulge and was awarded three medals. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Johnstown; Goddard Lodge 383, F&AM; past patron, Anna L. Windolph 495, Order of Eastern Star; and Menoher Post 155, VFW. There will be no public viewing, however, family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 600 Ash St., Johnstown, Pa. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Private interment at Richland Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Leo may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.
