UPPER YODER TOWNSHIP — HILDEBRAND – Walter D. “Jim,” 85, Upper Yoder Township, died Jan. 24, 2013, at Presbyterian Home. Born June 4, 1927, in Jackson Township, son of Harry and Edna (Good) Hildebrand. Preceded in death by parents; brother,  Clifford; and sister-in-law, Helen (Cowan) Hildebrand. Survived by wife, the former Theresa Zurenda; and daughter, Marilyn (David Gehlman), Upper Yoder Township. Brother of Crawford, Johnstown; and Robert (Nonie Mackel) and Ruth (Dan Zurenda), both of Vinco. Also survived by sister-in-law, Phyllis (Brumbaugh) Hildebrand, Windber. Jim was an avid bowler, and enjoyed NASCAR. He retired from U.S. Steel Corp., and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. Friends received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Wilma Horner, officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Charles Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team at the funeral home Monday, immediately following the funeral service. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum.
