RICHLAND — GREGORCHIK – Edward J., 92, Richland, died July 31, 2013, at the Presbyterian Home. Born Dec. 18, 1920, in Johnstown, son of the late Thomas and Mary (Guzik) Gregorchik. Also preceded in death by daughter, Donna Stein; great-grandson, Colin Maldet; brothers, Casmir, Joseph, Walter, Wallace and John; and sisters, Helen Ratay, Stella Kaminski, Eleanor Hamski and Florence Seftic. Survived by wife of 67 years, Emma M. (Cherney); daughter, Rita (Charles) Kania, Natrona Heights, Pa.; son, Ronald E. (Shirley Sedgwick), Johnstown; grandchildren, Kelly (Matt Maldet), Johnstown; Eric Gregorchik, Cleveland, Ohio; Kari (Matt Rosenbaum), Guam; Michael Stein Jr., Baltimore, Md.; and Thomas Gregorchik (Brittany Mckenry, fiancee), Johnstown; great-grandchildren, Jenna and Kambria, Rylee and Braeden; son-in-law, Michael Stein Sr., Baltimore, Md.; and brother-in-law, Clarence Seftic, Richland; also many nieces and nephews. A 1940 graduate of Johnstown High School and a World War II Army veteran. Retired rigger from Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel, with 42 years of service. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown; Holy Name Society; and St. Benedict Duck Pin League. Longtime volunteer for parish reunion. Also a member of Menoher Post 155 VFW and American Legion, Richland Post. Ed enjoyed gardening, hosting family gatherings, shopping and traveling. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict Church, Father David S. Peles, pastor. Committal, Grandview Cemetery, with military rites by Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
