NORTHERN CAMBRIA — HOOVER – Dorothy M., 92, Northern Cambria, passed away Aug. 2, 2013, at Miners Hospital, Hastings.  Born Jan. 3, 1921, in Wheeling, W.Va., the daughter of Thomas and Rose Manette (McCloskey) McCann.  Dorothy grew up in Fairmont, W.Va. and Washington, D.C.  She worked at Washington General Hospital as secretary to the administrator, where she met her husband, Charles J. Hoover. They married in 1948 and moved to Spangler in 1952.  She raised a family and worked as a secretary at Hoover’s Dairy for many years.   She is preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Charles, who died Dec. 14, 1993; and sisters,  Rose Marie Castello, Frances Neff and Mary Lou Holtzer.  Survived by children,  Michael Hoover, Glendale; Edwin (Debbie) Hoover, Northern Cambria; Marilou (Thomas) Sibert, Ebensburg; Lois (Russell) Weakland, Northern Cambria; Greg (Mary Ellen) Hoover, Ephrata; and Jerry (Rita) Hoover, Northern Cambria; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.  Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother and a devout Christian.  She cherished her Catholic upbringing and was devout in her faith and proud of her Irish heritage.  She enjoyed ceramics and tending to her many  flowers.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Chapel.  Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery.
