SOMERSET — BERKEBILE-GERWATOSKI – Constance Lou “Connie,” 81, Somerset, died Aug. 2, 2013, at Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 2, 1932, in Stoystown, daughter of Harold George and Lucilla Bernice (Specht) Lohr. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Irvin S. Berkebile Jr.; second husband, Lawrence J. Gerwatoski; and brother, Jerry Lohr. Survived by sons, Scott I. Berkebile, married to former Susan Kimmel, Coleman Station, and Bradley H. Berkebile, married to former Joan Crimone, Somerset; grandchildren, Jason Berkebile, Charlotte, N.C.; Amanda Shaffer, Somerset; Ashley Berkebile, and fiance, Joseph Lippert III, Pittsburgh; and Kaitlyn Berkebile, Coleman Station; great- granddaughter, Lily Shaffer; and sister, Carol Clark, and husband, Jerry, Ohio. Connie was a graduate of Quemahoning-Stoystown High School, worked for Somerset County Commissioners and later was owner-operator of Connie’s Closet until her retirement. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 138 and Somerset Soroptomist. She enjoyed playing cards with her card club and loved reading and needlepoint. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens, the Rev. Edward DeVore officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
