SIPESVILLE — ANKNEY – Betty Ruth, 82, Sipesville, went home to be with our Lord and savior Jan. 13, 2014, at home. Born Feb. 2, 1931, in Lincoln Township, daughter of Richard and Mary (Swank) Flick. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Curtis Gregg Ankney; daughter, Christina Martin; and sisters, Ruby Flick and Alice Gilmore. Survived by daughter, Tammy, married to Robert Peterman Jr., Stoystown; grandchildren, Brian Peterman, and wife, Tara, Mineral Point; Kristie Albert, Pittsburgh; and Ashley, married to Jason Beener, Somerset; and great-grandchildren, Alexis and Curtis Peterman and Colton and Coy Beener; also niece, Marydean Barsis, and her son, Landon, Somerset. She was a 1947 graduate of Somerset High School and a retired beautician. She enjoyed traveling the world, gardening and spending time with her family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Joseph Beer, officiating. Interment, Sipesville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn. 38148-0142. (
