George A. Cassanese

WINDBER — CASSANESE – George A., 47, Windber, went to be with the Lord July 12, 2013, at Windber Hospice. Born March 5, 1966, in Johnstown, to Eugene and Constance (Pantano) Cassanese. He was preceded in death by his father. Survived by his mother of Windber; and brothers, Joseph Cassanese; and Eugene Cassanese Jr., and wife, Patty, both of Johnstown. Also survived by numerous maternal and paternal relatives. He was a lifetime client of Somerset MH/MR with 20 years service at Somerset County Workshop. He finally lost his lifelong battle with neurofibromatosis. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber. George loved to go for walks and watch parades in Windber.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Meadow View Nursing Care Center, Windber Hospice or a charity of your choice in George’ memory. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, Father Adrian, officiating. Private interment at church cemetery.
