Betty J. (Rapp) Cafasso

PORTAGE — CAFASSO – Betty J. (Rapp), 88, Portage, formerly of Jeannette, Pa., and Venice, Fla., passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Maple Winds Care Center, Portage. Born Jan. 23, 1926, in Greensburg, daughter of the late Clair H and Kathryn (Kemerer) Rapp. Prior to retiring, Betty was employed as a nurses’ aide. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis B. Cafasso. Betty will be dearly missed by her loving family. Survived by son, Brian L. (Patricia) Cafasso, Portage; daughter, Betty K. (Arnold) Hildebrand, Cincinnati, Ohio; and grandchildren, Clara (Grant) Struthers, Montgomery Village, Md.; and Matthew (Jennifer) Cafasso, Windber. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Vaia Funeral Home Inc., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont. (724-468-1177), followed by a blessing service at 1 p.m., with Father Joseph Bonafed of St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church, Delmont, officiating. Interment will followed at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Betty’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Autumns View Personal Care, Maple Winds Care Center and Horizons Hospice for the excellent care Betty received during her stay.
