PORTAGE — HOUGH – Mrs. Sara Ellen (Kay) 93, Portage, entered into new life Dec. 7, 2012, at Maplewinds Care Center. Born April 5, 1919, in Krings, daughter of James and Mabel (Webb) Kay. Preceded in death by parents: husband, John “Jack” P., and brother missing in action during World War II, Richard “Dick” Kay. Survived by her children, Thomas, married to former Kathy Pribozie, Portage, and Jackie, wife of Bob Pavlik, Tampa, Fla. Loving Mummum to Shawn (Pamela) Hough, Kitina (James) Bryson, Patrick Hough, Chris (Raquel) Pavlik, Brian (Tanya) Pavlik and Robin Pavlik, and fiancee, Ryan. Great-grandma to Colin and Abigail Hough, Joshua and Brock Bryson, Alejandro and Javier Pavlik and Alyssa and Evan Pavlik. Sister of Eugene (Elaine) Kay, Canton, Ohio, and sister-in-law, Vivian Pauley, Portage. Sara was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and its Sunday school class. Past president of South Fork Women’s Club. Served as a Girl Scout leader in South Fork for years and also served as a teacher for EUB youth group of South Fork. Sara enjoyed her grandchildren, participating in all their activities and sports. Her home was known as the “treat house” to her grandchildren and their friends. She was an avid reader and loyal Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany United Methodist Church, the Rev. Maryann Long officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
