JOHNSTOWN — BURKHART – Blanche M., 82, Johnstown, died July 13, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 12, 1931, in Honesdale, daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Gregory) Sweet. Also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Burkhart; brother, Greg Sweet; and son-in-law, John Smith. Survived by children, Dennis “Bucky” (Debra) Burkhart, Windber; Janice (Jim) Barnouski, Johnstown; Melvin (Maryann) Burkhart , Hollsopple; Alan “Birdi” (Deborah) Burkhart, Johnstown; Judith Lucas, Johnstown; Gary (Cindy) Burkhart, Johnstown; Curtis (Sharon) Burkhart, Johnstown; Joseph Burkhart (Cathy), Johnstown; and Carol Smith, Johnstown; brother, Joseph Sweet, South Dakota; sister, Jane (Charlie) Lightfeather; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren. She was employed as a cook at Faranda’s Restaurant. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Albright United Methodist Church, 608 Cooper Ave., Johnstown, Pa. 15906.
