JOHNSTOWN — PISKURA – Matilda Eleanor, 96,  died Jan. 14, 2014, at LaurelWood Care Center. Born March 15, 1917, in Johnstown, daughter of John and Anna (Pruzensky) Piskura. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Joseph, Andrew and Edward; sisters, Mary Piskura, Cecelia Koharchik and Irene Rozmus; infant sister, Josephine; niece, Mary Ellen Koharchik Sebak; nephews, Richard Piskura and infant Stanley Rozmus; and great-nephew, Kevin Piskura. Survived by nephews, John “Jack” Piskura, the Rev. George Koharchik, Thomas J. Koharchik, Father Edward Koharchik and Edward Piskura; and nieces, Marianne Rozmus Wentworth, Joanne Koharchik Sullivan, Irene Rozmus Mikula, Joellen Piskura Smith and Kim Piskura DeMauro; and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews. A graduate of Greater Johnstown Senior High School. Retired seamstress for various companies, including Kay Artley and Martin’s. Member of St. Francis Rosary Society, Secular Franciscan Order (SFO), Catholic Daughters of the Americas and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Franciscan Friars, OFM, Conv., and Matilda’s nephew, the Rev. Edward Koharchik, co-celebrant. Committal, St. Francis Church Cemetery. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.
