STRONGSTOWN — HILL – William F. “Bill,” 84, Strongstown, passed away Jan. 14, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, surrounded by his loving family. Born Feb. 18, 1929, in Alverda, Indiana County, son of Harry and Ruth (Cressley) Hill. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Hulda Stiles, who died in 1963; sons, Paul and Dave Hill; daughter, Gail Henry; daughter-in-law, Laurie Hill; brothers, Eugene and Russell Hill; and sisters, Minnie Marie Laslo, Mary Ellen Fisher, Alma Hebner and Ethel Hill. Survived by loving wife of 47 years, Judith “Judy” (Gleydura) Hill; son, Fred Hill, Nanty Glo; Marilyn (Chuck) Brancato, Tonawanda, N.Y.; Johnna Kay (Randy) Rice, Strongstown; and Valerie (Matt) Speedy, Clarksburg, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; also special family members, Joe and Sandy Hetrick. Also survived by brothers and sister-in-law, Reed, Kenny and Perry Stiles; and Marion Domingo; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Retired coal miner with 38 years of service from Beth Energy Mines. Member of UMWA Local 1386, Blue Goose Sportsmen’s Club and Twin County Snowmobile Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed singing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Pastor Roger Wippo, officiating. Interment, Mount Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
