DERRY — JESCHONEK – Robert H. “Bob,” 89, Derry, formerly of Wesley Chapel, Johnstown, went to be with his Lord Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014. Born June 6, 1924, in Johnstown, son of the late Gustav and Sadie Boswick Jeschonek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte M. Colberg Jeschonek; brothers, Joseph, Gustav and James; sister, Lucetta Allen; and sons-in-law, Barry Shaffer and Michael J. Goncher. Bob is survived by his special friend, Madeline Manorelli; daughters, Roberta Shaffer, Derry; Patricia Henslee (Michael), Canton, Ga.; Deborah Pfeil (Richard), Richland; Jacqueline Goncher, Johnstown; and Kimberly Schilling (Gerald), Derry; 25 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; also two great-great-grandchildren. (Almost 60 offspring). Robert was a World War II veteran and was employed at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for more than 40 years. He was an active member at Blairsville Free Methodist Church for more than 20 years, and actively served the Lord at Park Hill Chapel, Conemaugh, for more than 40 years before relocating to Derry. Bob will be remembered for his strong faith in Christ, his love for and commitment to his family, how much he enjoyed camping and golfing, his ability to fix anything and to create the most beautiful paintings and wood crafts, as well as the giant impact that he left on those who knew him, because of his Christian walk and love for the Lord. Memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Blairsville Free Methodist Church, 340 Stewart St., Pastor Kirk Rowland and Pastor Rusty McClurg, co-officiating. McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W.
