WESTMONT — HULVEY – David L., 62, Westmont, died Jan. 23, 2014, at Windber Hospice. Born Aug. 29, 1951, in Johnstown, son of the late George and Irene (Zuzindlak) Hulvey. Preceded in death by daughters, Lisa M. Blasko and Wendy L. Moore; and sister-in-law, Janet (Cornelius) Hulvey. Survived by loving wife of 40 years, the former Sharon K. Kessler; daughter, Jill A. Hulvey, married to Michael L. Deaven, Harrisburg; grandchildren, Sydney L. Moore, Connor M. and Kaylee E. Deaven; and son-in-law, Brian R. Moore, Johnstown. Also survived by brothers, Alvin G. Hulvey, and wife, Marilyn, California; and Gary L. Hulvey, West Virginia; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Robert J. Kessler, and wife, Diane (Hearn); Patricia A. Kessler; and Dennis J. Kessler, and wife, Jody (Ames); and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave served 24 years in the U.S. Army with the 876th Engineer Battalion. He retired from The Tribune-Democrat as a senior account executive with 44 years of service. Dave was a member of Major General Charles T. Menoher, VFW, Post 155. He also was a member of Moxham Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir and was on the church council. Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Moxham Lutheran Church, the Rev. Dr. Robert R. Wagner, officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. Donations may be made to Moxham Lutheran Church Sanctuary Fund, 500 Park Ave., Johnstown, Pa. 15902. (
