BOLIVAR — SISITKI – Joseph J., 64, Bolivar, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010. Born June 5, 1946, in Johnstown, son of the late Joseph and Gladys Burkett Sisitki. Prior to his retirement in 2008, he had been employed by the maintenance department of IUP. He also had been employed by the former Florence Mining Co. and Vulcan Mold & Iron in Latrobe. He served honorably with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a 1964 graduate of Laurel Valley High School. Member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Lucernemines. Lifetime member of Bolivar American Legion 128, AFSCME 763 and UMWA 1257. Joe was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Mechanically, there was nothing that he couldn’t fix or do and willingly would do it with a smile. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community. Survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Cecelia A. Jones Sisitki; son, Michael E. (fiance, Brooke Benedict) Sisitki, Bolivar; daughters, Susann (James) Colonna, Pleasant Grove, Utah; Bethany Sisitki, Bolivar; and Erin (Michael) Boring, Clymer; grandchildren, Abigail and Anthony Colonna, Catherine and Austin Grove and Seth and Wyatt Boring; sisters, Patricia (Ronald) Betts, Bolivar; Nancy (Andy) Bimeal, New Florence; and Sandra Sisitki, Bolivar; and brother, James L. (Betsy) Sisitki, Marion Center; also foster sons, who he loved as his own, Shawn and Anthony Post. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 536 Market St., Bolivar. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lucernemines. Everyone, please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
