LAUREL VIEW VILLAGE — LAZER – Virginia Ruth, 94, Laurel View Village, died Jan. 30, 2014, at the village. Born July 3, 1919, in Johnstown, daughter of Eugene and Greta (Strausbaugh) Lynch. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Carl (Charlie) Lazer, who died in 1990; son, Marine Sgt. Terry Lee Lazer, who died in 1973; seven sisters; and one brother. Survived by children, John C., and wife, Carol (Shetler), Winchester, Va.; David L., Alaska; Larry P., and wife, Cynthia (Spickerman), Johnstown; Betty Lou, and husband, Lee Stevens, Harrisburg; and Diane Emswiler, Broadway, Va. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Sister of Eugene, and wife, Mary Lynch; and Betty Orner, all of Johnstown. She was a longtime member of Stahl Mennonite Church and a member of Emanuel Baptist Church and Super Seniors. Family receiving friends from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Laurel View Village Chapel, Pastors Wes Yoder and Jeffery Bassett, officiating.
