EMPORIUM — SHORT – Catherine M., 95, 112 E. Fourth St., Emporium, Pa., formerly of 520 Beech Ave., Patton, died Monday morning, Feb. 10, 2014, at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium. Born Feb. 13, 1918, in Hastings, daughter of the late Jacob and Irene Yeager Strasser. Her first husband was Henry Lallemand. After his death, she married the late Paul J. Short. She was the last surviving member of nine children. Kate, as she was known by many friends and neighbors, was one who loved family and friends. Kate worked at the Ebensburg Center and with her husband, Paul, at All Service Co. in Patton. She also was a personal caregiver for several individuals in the Patton area. For Kate, sitting on the porch with a good cup of coffee, visiting with friends and family, was a precious treasure. Surviving are her daughter, Irene “Pee Wee” Beunier, Patton; son, Jim Lallemand, Northern Cambria; son, Dave Lallemand, and wife, LuJean, Altoona; son, Bert Lallemand, and wife, Barb, Altoona; daughter, Cathy Rietscha, and husband, David Puckett, Michigan; son, Rev. Joe Short, and wife, Jenny, Emporium; daughter-in-law, Kate Lallemand, Patton; 36 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Jacob and Irene Yeager Strasser; first husband, Henry Lallemand; second husband, Paul J. Short; son, Ted Lallemand; infant son, Hubert Lallemand; and infant daughter, Mary C. Short. There will be no visitation at her request. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 501 Beech Avenue, Patton, the Rev. Joseph Short and the Rev. Paul Demi, officiating. Burial, Fairview Cemetery, Patton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Patton Public Library, Magee Avenue, Patton, Pa. 16668, or Patton Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
