NEWBURG, PA. — PAULEY – Harry W., 92, Newburg, Pa., died Feb. 3, 2014, in Flemington, N.J. Born April 6, 1921, in Spring Hill, Pa., son of George and Rose Schnider Pauley. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1939 and rose to rank of chief radioman by end of World War II. He entered Columbia College on a GI Bill, and graduated with bachelor’s degree in English, master’s degree from Columbia University and Ph.D. from University of Missouri. He was professor emeritus at Shippensburg University. He authored “Shakespeare: The Main Story” and “The Rocking Chair.” Survived by wife, Evelyn M. (Green); son, Christopher (Barbara), Ringoes, N.J.; daughter, Ingrid (Leonard) LaBarbiera, Hillsborough, N.J.; and grandchildren, Katherine, Kristen and Gregory Pauley; and Juliana and Milena LaBarbiera. Predeceased by siblings, Ellsworth, Rosella Poorman, Caroline Beba, George and Edward; and granddaughter, Amy LaBarbiera.
