RICHLAND — HARTLAND (KELLEY) – Ruth K., 98, Richland, died Sept. 20, 2013, on National Alzheimer’s Awareness Day, at LaurelView Village with her family at her bedside. Born July 19, 1915, in Richland Township, daughter of David and Clara (Custer) Bheam. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Clarence E. Kelley; second husband, Shannon Hartland; son, Gary B. Kelley; sisters, Flo M. Curry, Martha Jean Hite and Lois F. Henry; and brothers, Don Bheam and David F. Bheam Jr., in World War II. Survived by daughter, Joye, wife of William Stephens, Davidsville; grandchildren, Kelley, married to Doug Hornbecker, Hagerstown, Md.; Brad Kelley, and special friend, Stephanie Martin, South Fork; Sarah Kelley, Elton; and William (Tracy) Stephens, Boswell; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brady Hornbecker; Matthew, Kimberly and Andrew Kelley; and Ryan, Trevor and Cassandra Stephens; sister, Bettie Montgomery, San Antonio, Texas; brother, Jack Bheam, married to former Mary Lou Pages, Akron, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Richard Curry and Ray Henry; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1934 graduate of Richland High School. She was oldest living member of Bethany United Methodist Church, serving in various positions at church during her lifetime. Past matron and 50-year member of Anna L. Windolph Chapter No. 459, Order of Eastern Star. Past worthy high priestess and 50-year member of Decapolis Shrine No. 29. Ruth was a pioneer in the cosmetic industry as one of the first Mary Kay Cosmetics consultants in the state of Pennsylvania. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Patricia Cleary, officiating. Entombment, Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. Family suggests donations to Bethany United Methodist Church, 112 Leventry Road, Johnstown, Pa. 15904, in memory of Ruth.
