SOMERS POINT, N.J. — MARX – Theresa C. “Terry” (Salbego), 81, passed away peacefully at home in Somers Point, N.J., July 29, 2013, with her family surrounding her. Born in Spangler in 1931 and attended Spangler High School. She lived in Somers Point for the past 61 years and spent the last six winters at their residence in Port St. Lucie, Fla. She worked at Horn and Hardart’s in Philadelphia in 1951. In the ’60s, she enjoyed bowling with her women league friends and volunteering for the Somers Point Little League. In 1971, she started her home business, T.C. Marx Custom Draperies. In 1984, with increased business demands and production, she relocated to Marmora, N.J., and built a custom commercial building to accommodate her rapidly growing business. She attended Atlantic Community College and was a member of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners and Atlantic County Women Chamber of Commerce. She was an active member of Great Bay Art Gallery in Somers Point, where her paintings are on display, and the American Society of Artists. She loved traveling, painting and gardening, but most of all she enjoyed spending time and vacationing with her family. Predeceased by parents, Giacomo and Josephine (Tindiglia) Salbego. Survived by husband of 61 wonderful years, Robert; children, Robert (Betsy), Mays Landing, N.J.; Theodore (Sue), Mays Landing, N.J.; Melinda (David) Battistelli, Mays Landing, N.J.; Shawn (Stephanie), Petersburg, N.J.; Theresa Marx (Greg), Millington, Md.; Josephine Fox (Erik), Netherlands; and Cynthia (John) Stephano, Seaville, N.J.; twin sister, Tendaris Walling, Arlington, Texas; brother, Joseph Salbego, Riverside, Calif.; sister, Gloria Demi, Ashville; grandchildren, Jason, Andrew, Matthew, John, Christopher, Marina, Ariel, Samantha, Justin, Mina, Victoria, Philip, Julie, David and Andrea; great-grandchildren, Mia, Madyson, Simon and Penelope; many cousins and nephews; and a niece. Her positive attitude, courage and will to fight for life during the past nine years, with her family by her side every step of the way, showed everyone how strong and amazing she really was. She will be dearly missed, along with her smile that would light up every room, each and every day by her family and everyone that knew her. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 606 Shore Road, Somers Point, N.J. 08244.
