Genevieve W. (Wadas) Komar

JOHNSTOWN — KOMAR – Genevieve W. (Wadas), 89, Johnstown, formerly of Windber, passed away July 31, 2013. Born May 16, 1924, in Windber, daughter of Stanley and Mary (Rubicz) Wadas. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph Komar; brothers, John, Walter, Joseph and Stanley Jr. Wadas; and sisters, Helen Papinchak and Rose Horvath. Survived by sisters, Annie Lesante, Johnstown; and Stella Pescatore, N.Y. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Genevieve was a former telephone operator and communications service adviser for the former Bell Telephone Co. Member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Johnstown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, the Rev. Martin Cingle. Interment, St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Windber. Friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held.
