GORE – Barbara L. (Abrams), 82, Mundys Corner, passed away Nov. 17, 2012, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 7, 1930, in East Wheatfield Township, daughter of the late Evor and Margaretta (Hullihen) Abrams. Preceded in death by husband, David “Daniel” Gore; brother, Lyndol “Lindy” Abrams; sister, Mayvaugh Bugal; and nephews, Bobby, John and Gary Lee Bosley. Survived by daughter, Terry, wife of Jerry Martin, Ebensburg; grandchildren, Tammi (David) Connah and Jerry “Scott” (Michelle) Martin, all of Nanty Glo, and Charisse Conner, Vinco; and great-grandchildren, Austin Daniel, Dalton Scott and Blaine Michael Conner; Cody James Connah; and Nathan Scott Martin. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Nanty Glo Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where many years ago she had served as a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed cooking at the Edinboro Church Camp. Retired from the Ebensburg Center (State School). She enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling and doing ceramics. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Milton C. Vogel III and the Rev. Russell Havener, officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Conemaugh Health Foundation - Breast Cancer Program.
