ALTOONA — BILLOTTE – Mrs. Helen L., 88, Altoona, passed away Nov. 21, 2012, at her home. Born Sept. 21, 1924, in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Stella A. Zeth and Roy J. Sell. She married Francis A. Billotte on July 17, 1945. Surviving are her husband of 67 years; children, Duane (Mary Elizabeth) Billotte, Johnstown; Janinne (Kevin) Lechene, Norton Shores, Mich.; and Judy (Richard) Steckroth, Hollidaysburg; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ethan) Kabler, Michael Billotte, Joel Lechene, Nicole (Scott) Younker, Meredith (Nick) Gedraitis, Monica (Nathaniel) Simmons and Travis Steckroth; and sister, Rita Bates, Johnstown. Preceded in death by sister, Mary C. Kyper. Helen Louise was proud to be a 1942 graduate of Business Academics, of the Altoona Catholic High School, now Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School. She was previously employed at the former William F. Gable Co. in the accounting department and held similar positions at various other local businesses. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since 1946. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and church. She served as member of the Altar Society, Christian Mothers Association and Legion of Mary. She was dedicated to her family, a loving mother and grandmother. She was a skilled seamstress, an avid reader, enjoyed crafting, crossword puzzles and following the local sports teams. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Monsignor Stanley Carson. Committal, Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
