HOLLIDAYSBURG — PETERS – Regina H., 87, a resident of Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Gallitzin, died Dec. 27, 2013, at the manor. She was born June 20, 1926, in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Stanislaw and Wiktoria (Sobocinski) Pawlowski. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rudolph F., Nov. 18, 2012. They were married June 19, 1954, at Our Lady of Czestochowa (St. Mary’s) Church, Gallitzin. She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley and Henry, and sister, Florence Borolla, all of Philadelphia. She is survived by seven children and eight grandchildren. She was the beloved mother of Cathy (Charles) Reese, Laurie (Jerry) Burdett and Joan (Carlo) Grassucci, all of Gibsonia; Mark (Caterina) Petrarca, Altoona; Don, Virginia Beach, Va.; Linda (David) Armitage, Neptune Beach, Fla.; and Sandy Peters (Norman), Encinitas, Calif. She was the proud grandmother of Justin (Kate), Marissa, Sarah, Matt, Emily, Joe, Gabriella and Angela. Regina retired in 1993 from Bon Secours Hospital, Altoona, where she was a hematology lab supervisor with 27 years of service. Regina was a 1946 graduate of Gallitzin High School and received her associates degree in medical technology from Mount Aloysius in 1949. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed music, reading and gardening. She was a lifelong and faithful parishioner of St. Demetrius Parish, Gallitzin, where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Albert Ledoux. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held Sunday afternoon.
