Lewis C. Musso

NORTHERN CAMBRIA — MUSSO – Lewis C., 92, Northern Cambria, died Jan. 3, 2014, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born Nov. 22, 1921, in Cosenzo, Italy, son of Charles and Marie (Rocco) Musso. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 66 years, former Beulah Miller, Sept. 6, 2013; sister, Angeline Hermalik; and brother, Rocco. Survived by son, Lewis Jr., and wife, Kathleen (Genchur), Wintersville, Ohio. A World War II  veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and 99th Infantry Division. Retired in 1981 from Barnes & Tucker Coal Co. 15 Mine with 43 years of service. Member of former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and present member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Barnesboro Sons of Italy, VFW and American Legion. Also member of  UMWA. He was an avid gardener who loved to share his bounty with others. At Lew’s  request, there will be no visitation. Private funeral Mass will be celebrated at the convenience  of the family. Committal, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 811 Philadelphia  Ave., Northern Cambria, Pa. 15714; St. Lazarus, Martha & Mary Old Roman Catholic Church, 1981 St. Lawrence Road, Patton, Pa. 16668; or a charity of one’s choice. Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, is in charge of arrangements.
